Extramural Fund Management (EFM) provides financial management support of sponsored project funds for the UCLA research community. This includes: financial reporting, invoicing, cash management, accounts receivable management, financial compliance oversight (effort reporting, cost transfers, unallowable expenses), and audit support. Statistics for Fiscal Year ended June 30, 2025
Statistics for fiscal year 2024-2025 relating to research expenditures, financial deliverables, and payments collected for sponsored projects are as follows:
Total research expenditures incurred for sponsored projects were $1.52 billion. 56.3% of total expenditures were for Federally sponsored projects, followed by State & Other Government projects at 16.6%.

Financial Deliverables represent invoices and financial reports of which EFM satisfied a total of 17,319. EFM collected $1.605 billion in payments from sponsors. 13,392 payments were received in the form of checks, wire, ACH, EFTs draws for LOC funds.
